“Oh my God, what if you wake up some day and you’re 65 or 75 and you never got your memoir or novel written; or you didn’t go swimming in warm pools and oceans all those years because your thighs were jiggly and you had a nice big comfortable tummy; or you were just so strung out on perfectionism and people pleasing that you forgot to have a big juicy creative life of imagination and radical silliness and staring off into space like when you were a kid? It’s going to break your heart. Don’t let this happen. ” – Anne Lamott
It feels like only yesterday that we survived 2016! 2017 started off with the hope of things getting better and yet somehow the world still seems to be suffering from an ’emotional hangover’. Time has sped past and as we speed towards the end of the year, many women are feeling the effects in the form of burnout, exhaustion and not having any structures in place to cope. It makes one want to just crawl into bed with a book or Netflix and shut out the noise of the world.
When last did you spend a day without having to worry about anyone’s needs but your own?
If you want to take some time to reflect, become more grounded or you are just feeling overwhelmed due to the expectations that have been put on you and want to find yourself again, Sacred Self Care is a one day workshop this Women’s Day that will give you a chance to be supported and the space to breathe in amongst the chaos.
If you are feeling run down, anxious, disconnected or stressed and could do with some calm and clarity, join this sacred circle and dive into your feminine power through creative self expression. Join us this Women’s Day for a self care session in which we celebrate softly through a variety of creative practices. Come journal, colour in, write, share and dream up a life that excites your wild woman within.
In this one day workshop, you will be given an opportunity to share and let go in a safe space. It is a place to express yourself without fear of judgment – a place to play, reflect and release what has hurt you. It is a day to clear away the old that no longer serves you, to see what lessons this year has brought you so far and give you a chance to focus on what kind of year you still want 2017 to be. ( Yes, you still have time to change things!) It is a place to dream without fear and invite wonder, magic, laughter and adventure into your life.
Various creative and healing activities will be used to help you learn to take better care of yourself. It will be a day of remembering and reflecting, letter writing, eating, drinking, making art, creative ritual and magic. Learn how to be more gentle with yourself and to share what is in your heart without fear of criticism. Experience the gift of sisterhood while remembering and rediscovering your strength.
This is an invitation to each woman or teenage girl to let go of her anxiety, her work, her worries, her need to belong, to be accepted, to impress or to be perfect and simply come home to herself wherever she is right now.
